Celebrate Memorial Day with Local Concerts Happening Next Two Weekends

Bowen Family Homes communities are located in the most sought-after locations throughout metro Atlanta, so that residents not only enjoy their homes, but the local area as well. Memorial Day is Monday, May 25, and there are several celebratory events throughout metro Atlanta that residents of our communities can attend both this weekend and next.
This Friday, May 22, the City of Suwanee will celebrate Memorial Day weekend with a free concert at Town Center Park. Sponsored by the Gwinnett Daily Post, the family-fun evening will feature patriotic music and song by The Gwinnett Community Band and the Sugar Hill LDS Choir. A parachute demonstration will be given by members of the Silver Wings, the Command Exhibition Parachute Team that is a part of the U.S. Army Infantry based at Fort Benning, at 7:30 p.m. weather permitting. Admission is free but attendees are asked to bring a canned food item to be donated to a local food bank. You will also want to bring a picnic basket, blanket and chairs, but no alcohol is allowed. Participate in Holly Springs’ Memorial Day 5K and Fun Run

This Memorial Day weekend stay active by participating in Holly Springs’ Memorial Day 5K and Fun Run. Whether you are a serious runner or a person looking to have some fun, then this race is for you. The 5K will start at 8:00 a.m. at Holly Springs Elementary and finish Barrett Memorial Park. The Fun Run will start immediately following the completion of the 5K and the route consists of two laps around the Barrett Memorial Park track. From 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. festival-goers will sample appetizers, entrees and desserts from over 50 restaurants as well as culinary demonstrations. Attendees can spread out their blankets on the Culinary Art and Music Stage lawn to enjoy competing chefs and live music. Children will enjoy a Fun Zone that will include inflatables, face painting, rock climbing, henna art and much more.
