No School Shouldn’t Mean No Education
By
School is out for the summer, but kids still need to keep active brains. At the Gwinnett Veterans Memorial Museum, kids can learn about the history of Georgia in the military and come to appreciate all the sacrifices people have made to keep them safe.
As you take the Gwinnett Veterans Memorial Museum tour through the building you will also get a tour through the past. You will read stories of men and women who fought in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf Wars and Operation Enduring Freedom.
These brave soldiers molded the country we live in today. The collection of war memorabilia, artifacts and uniforms from all divisions of the military across a span of over 100 years is fascinating.
Your kids will learn a lot and be captivated by the true stories presented in the museum. The museum is located at 185 Crogan Street, Room 118, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30045. It is open 10 a.m. -4 p.m. Monday - Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free (though donations are accepted) so teach your kids about the past and indulge yourself in a little Georgia history.
