Home Grown on the Marietta Square

By Bowen

marietta farmers marketNext time you are out about on a Saturday morning, why not venture over to Historic Marietta Square between 9 a.m. to noon to check out the Marietta Square Farmer’s Market. The market, which will remain open through December, features 55 vendors and includes many items that cannot be found in a grocery store. On any given Saturday items include but are not limited to apples, blueberries, strawberries, figs, heirloom tomatoes, potatoes, onions, okra, tomatoes, squash and beans. The market also includes much more than just fruits and vegetables. Come see for yourself. Unique items include amazing cut flower arrangements, local honey, herbal soaps, whole grain breads, fudge pies, jelly, jam and preserves. Customers can also take home many live garden, yard and culinary herb plants as well as fresh squeezed lemonade.

The market is located on the Historic Marietta Square in downtown Marietta, Georgia. Take I-75, exit #265, 1.5 miles west on Route 120 Loop/North Marietta Parkway. Turn left onto Church Street to the Historic Marietta Square. There is plenty of free parking available all day Saturday.

Many Cobb county homeowners in Caswell Overlook are very familiar with the Farmer’s Market. The Bowen Family Homes community, located just a short distance from Marietta Square, is known for its wonderful location.
