Fall is in the air!

By Bowen

fall leavesThe leaves have begun to change colors, there is a cool nip to the air (well when it isn’t raining that is) and pumpkins and Halloween decorations can be found everywhere you look. Fall is once again in the air and  it’s time for pumpkin patches and hayrides!

If you’re looking for family outings that don’t have you trekking across the state, we have all the information you need.

If you are in the Gwinnett County area you are in for a world of Halloween treats. From pumpkin patches to haunted houses, Gwinnett has it all. Located near the neighborhood of Ashmore the  Church of the Hills Pumpkin Patch in Duluth is putting a charitable spin on the season with all the proceeds of their pumpkin patch going to Habitat for Humanity, and other local organizations.

Not too far from Berkeley Chase is the Norcross Presbyterian Church Pumpkin Patch. Norcross Presbyterian will be hosting a Family Fun Day on Saturday, October 24. This event will feature storytellers, crafts, pumpkin painting, games and more. But no worries if you can’t make it out, their farm is filled with over a 1,000 pumpkins ready to go home with your family any day of the week.

If a haunted house is more your style check out the Netherworld Haunted House in Norcross, one of the most popular attractions in Georgia this house is sure to scare your pants off, as you twist and turn through the Georgia Antique and Design Center in an effort to make it to the exit with your wits intact.

Fulton and Forsyth residents need to hop over to Alpharetta’s Holy Cow Farm. Not too far from  Hanover Place and Hanover Point, this farm offers all the traditional fall activities including pony rides and a petting zoo in addition to their amazing pumpkin patch.

If you are in Cherokee County then the Art Barn in Canton is for you. Located right around the corner from Prominence Court, this family fun getaway features pumpkins and hay rides in addition to their face painting, pony rides and petting zoo.

If mazes are your thing make sure to check out Cagle’s Dairy. Also located in Canton, Cagle’s has a corn maze, hay rides and pumpkin patch. The maze was designed by Brett Herbst who is a leading designer of corn mazes world wide and should prove challenging for even the most direction savvy visitor.
