Bring in the Holidays with Tree Lighting Ceremonies

By Bowen

Christmas TreeAs December draws near we find ourselves looking for opportunities to celebrate the season with our friends and family.

Residents living in Gwinnett and Forsyth counties won’t have any problems. Both counties will be hosting holiday Christmas tree lighting ceremonies complete with a visit from Santa and yummy goodies. These fun filled holiday events are the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season.

Join the city of Cumming on December 5 as they usher in the holidays with the Cumming Christmas Parade & Festival. The parade begins at 3:30 p.m. but you’ll want to make your way to Market Place Boulevard ahead of time so the little ones can  get a good view of the parade, which will be complete with decorative floats, marching bands, festive holiday music, dance troops and more. Of course, you can also expect a visit from Santa. Stick around for the grand finale of the Northside Hospital Celebration of Lights. The magnificent Christmas tree lights are sure to dazzle children and adults alike and the Celebration of Lights benefits the cancer program at Northside Hospital.

If you live in Lawrenceville, the tree lighting ceremony will begin Thanksgiving Night at 5:30 p.m. with the 21st Annual Lighting of the Tree. Enjoy the outdoor festivities including holiday musical entertainment at the gazebo, trolley rides, dancers and a visit from Santa in his sleigh, so be sure to bring a camera. The there will be activities for the whole family and of course the main event of the giant tree presentation.

Forsyth and Gwinnett counties are home to Bowen Family Homes communities  Hanover Place in Alpharetta and Alcovy Falls in Lawerenceville. These communities are known for their excellent location, school systems and access to community events.
