Christmas Tree Farm Participates in Trees for Troops

By Bowen

Christmas TreeHunters’ Christmas Tree Farm in Milton will once again be participating in the national effort, Trees for Troops. The holiday initiative provides more then 15,000 Christmas Trees to military families throughout the United States and overseas.

Trees for Troops began in 2005 when FedEx and Christmas SPIRIT Foundation provided 4,300 real Christmas Trees to military families at fives bases in the United States and overseas. In 2006 the initiative tripled their success, delivering nearly 12,000 trees to families at 25 bases in 17 countries.

Over the years the program has continued to grow as more and more Christmas tree farms such as Hunters’ participate. This year, customers can participate this year by purchasing a discounted 6 or 7-foot tree at Hunters’, November 27 through December 12. Stationary and cards will also be available for those who would like to write a personal message and attach it to their donated tree. The trees donated from Hunters’ Christmas Tree Farm will be distributed amongst families serving at Fort Gordon.

Residents of both Fulton and Forsyth counties shouldn’t have any trouble locating Hunters’ Christmas Tree farm. Located conveniently at 14680 Wood Road in Milton, the farm is just down the road from Bowen Family Homes’ Hanover Place and Deerfield Green communities.

Both communities are known for their great locations and excellent amenities. For more information about these, or any of the Bowen Family Homes Communities, visit www.bowenfamilyhomes.com, become a fan on Facebook or follow along on Twitter @BowenFamilyHome.
