BoulderDash 5k Benefits Forsyth County

BoulderDash 5kSomething has always intrigued me about rock quarries; probably because it’s not too easy to tour one. Sure, you can hear the explosions blasting away the rock at regular intervals, but seeing that massive crater in the earth has always been on my to-do list.

Does anybody else feel this way? Well May 1st, Bowen Family Homes residents can check it off your list at the BoulderDash 5k Fitness Run/Walk and Corporate Challenge. Lafarge Quarry in Cumming is opening their gates to walk/run participants as then finish line of the 5k. The quarry is active and prides itself on being environmentally responsible.

The registration fee for the run/walk goes toward two great causes: the Forsyth County Park and Recreation Department and the “Envision a Fit Forsyth” program. Read More→

St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival

St. Patricks DayIf you live in of one of the many Bowen Family Homes communities throughout the metro-Atlanta area, you might be looking for something fun and family friendly to do with your children to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

We have just the event for you. Also known as St. Pat’s 2010, the Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the oldest St. Patrick’s Day festivals in Georgia. The parade dates back to 1858 and the 2010 celebration marks the 128th parade in Atlanta over the past 152 years.

The parade will kickoff on Saturday March 13 at noon on at the corner Peachtree Street and Ralph McGill. If you want to ensure that your little ones have a good view of the floats, music and candy, there’s a reviewing stand just down the road from the parade’s start.
