Squeeze in a Staycation Before Summer is Over

By Bowen

georgia_aquarium_jan_2006It may seem like school recessed for summer not too long ago, but in a few more weeks it will be time once again for reading, writing and ‘rithmetic. Don’t worry though, there is still time to squeeze in some summer fun without having to hit to the road.

Atlanta is full of family-friendly activities, and a perfect way to experience them all is with Atlanta CityPass. CityPass saves you 51% over buying attraction tickets separately, is valid for nine days and includes admission to six beloved Atlanta attractions.

The first stop on the CityPass is Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the world. See Deepo’s 4-D movie and marvel at the beluga whales, sea otters, penguins and more. After your kids are finished with their aquatic tour of the world, hop across Pemberton Place and experience the World of Coca-Cola. Your kids can see how Coke came to be and experience different Coke flavors from around the world. Word of advice: watch out for the Beverly. Round out the day with a CNN Studio Tour and your little ones will be content and tired from the day’s activities.

Lions, Tigers and Pandas, oh my! The CityPass also includes admission to Zoo Atlanta. See the Golden Lion Tamarins, the gorillas, the reptile house and of course the fluffy pandas. The CityPass also includes an All Rides wristband. You can take the train around the park, ride the endangered species carousel, scale the rock wall or bump around in the bounce house.

CityPass also comes with options. For your fifth attraction, choose between Fernbank Museum of Natural History, which includes an IMAX film, or the Atlanta Botanical Gardens with the newly opened Canopy Walk. Attraction six is a choice between High Museum of Art or Atlanta History Center, both packed with education, culture and fun.

CityPass is $74 for adults and $54 for children.

Residents of Bowen Family Homes communities are close to all of the action of Atlanta. Since the pass is good for nine days, there is no need to visit every attraction in one. Instead, residents can make the short drive to and from Atlanta whenever they want. Many communities can be a staycation in themselves with amenities that include aquatic centers, mushroom play fountains and tennis courts. For more information, visit the Bowen Family Homes website.
