Fall is in the air!

fall leavesThe leaves have begun to change colors, there is a cool nip to the air (well when it isn’t raining that is) and pumpkins and Halloween decorations can be found everywhere you look. Fall is once again in the air and  it’s time for pumpkin patches and hayrides!

If you’re looking for family outings that don’t have you trekking across the state, we have all the information you need.

If you are in the Gwinnett County area you are in for a world of Halloween treats. From pumpkin patches to haunted houses, Gwinnett has it all. Located near the neighborhood of Ashmore the  Church of the Hills Pumpkin Patch in Duluth is putting a charitable spin on the season with all the proceeds of their pumpkin patch going to Habitat for Humanity, and other local organizations.

Memorial Day is Monday, May 25, and there are several celebratory events throughout metro Atlanta that residents of our communities can attend both this weekend and next.

This Friday, May 22, the City of Suwanee will celebrate Memorial Day weekend with a free concert at Town Center Park. Sponsored by the Gwinnett Daily Post, the family-fun evening will feature patriotic music and song by The Gwinnett Community Band and the Sugar Hill LDS Choir. A parachute demonstration will be given by members of the Silver Wings, the Command Exhibition Parachute Team that is a part of the U.S. Army Infantry based at Fort Benning, at 7:30 p.m. weather permitting. Admission is free but attendees are asked to bring a canned food item to be donated to a local food bank. You will also want to bring a picnic basket, blanket and chairs, but no alcohol is allowed.
