As citizens across America gear up for their own festivities, we want to know what you are going to be doing. Residents in Bowen Family Homes’ Gwinnett County communities are close to a wide range of choices. From hot dogs and fireworks to good ole’ American fun, the Atlanta area has got you covered.

Residents of McGinnis Reserve and Bennington Square will most likely flock to Lawrenceville’s 4th of July weekend extravaganza. On the 3rd, family and friends can join the Gwinnett Braves as they host their annual Heroes of the Diamond, “Red, White and Blue Tour” in honor the Armed Forces and Military. For ticket information, visit the Coolray Field Box Office or visit gwinnettbraves.com.

If you are looking for something slightly more dramatic to kick off your weekend, you might want to check out Aurora Theater’s special outdoor concert presentation of “The Wizard of Oz” on the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse lawn. Interested in spicing up the evening? Forgo the free lawn seating and splurge on a table catered from a local restaurant. Finally for the big day, the “Band of Gold” will play a concert series on the Courthouse lawn while free crafts and face painting entertains the kids. ice_cream_coneJoin Primrose School of Buford on Friday, April 17 for their 14th annual Spring Fling for Charity. The event, which lasts from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the school parking lot, will feature fun for the entire family with carnival games, treats including ice cream, raffle items, a silent auction, cake walk, ponies and more. Not only will you enjoy spending time with your family and friends at the Spring Fling, but you will also be helping a good cause. Proceeds from the Spring Fling will benefit the Primrose Children’s Foundation that supports the Reach Out and Read charity. Reach Out and Read promotes early literacy by filling high risk pediatric offices with books and teaching parents to read to their children at a young age.

In 2008 Buford was named the #3 city to Live and Launch by Fortune Small Business Magazine.
