Christmas TreeHunters’ Christmas Tree Farm in Milton will once again be participating in the national effort, Trees for Troops. The holiday initiative provides more then 15,000 Christmas Trees to military families throughout the United States and overseas.

Trees for Troops began in 2005 when FedEx and Christmas SPIRIT Foundation provided 4,300 real Christmas Trees to military families at fives bases in the United States and overseas. In 2006 the initiative tripled their success, delivering nearly 12,000 trees to families at 25 bases in 17 countries.

Over the years the program has continued to grow as more and more Christmas tree farms such as Hunters’ participate. This year, customers can participate this year by purchasing a discounted 6 or 7-foot tree at Hunters’, November 27 through December 12. Stationary and cards will also be available for those who would like to write a personal message and attach it to their donated tree. Friday Night Dive In

Posted by: Bowen | Comments (0)

Pool at Stonehaven TerraceIt’s so hard to choose - do I want to stay at the pool where I can relax and splash around or do I want to go home to watch a movie?

Summer is full of tough decisions - would I rather have a bomb pop or a fudgesicle? Play a pick-up game of basketball or volleyball? Go to the beach or go to the lake?

Well the Alpharetta City Pool is making one of those decisions a little easier by offering the “Friday Night Dive In” Friday July 17th. Reminiscent of the drive-in theater your parents used to go to, the pool at Wills Park has added its own twist. Bring your floaties and inner tubes and relax in the cool water alongside friends and family while watching a favorite movie. The pool will open at 7:30 pm and the movie will begin at dusk.

For 2009 pool pass holders, this event is free and for everyone else it is only $3. You can’t beat that price for  a movie Read More→
