St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival

St. Patricks DayIf you live in of one of the many Bowen Family Homes communities throughout the metro-Atlanta area, you might be looking for something fun and family friendly to do with your children to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

We have just the event for you. Also known as St. Pat’s 2010, the Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the oldest St. Patrick’s Day festivals in Georgia. The parade dates back to 1858 and the 2010 celebration marks the 128th parade in Atlanta over the past 152 years.

The parade will kickoff on Saturday March 13 at noon on at the corner Peachtree Street and Ralph McGill. If you want to ensure that your little ones have a good view of the floats, music and candy, there’s a reviewing stand just down the road from the parade’s start. Stone Mountain Stone Mountain is a place you typically think of heading to when the weather is warm, the mountain glimmers in the sun and a picnics can be enjoyed before settling in for the laser show.

But now is actually a great time to visit Stone Mountain, especially if you have kids. Our cold and sunny days are perfect time to check out all of the seasonal activities happening at the mountain.

Snow Mountain

This Sufootballnday, only one thing will be on many Americans’ minds… Football.

The Big Game is more than just football: it’s about good-ole fashioned getting together and stuffing our faces.  Game-day food is always important, whether you’re hosting a large group or just the family.  Here are some tips to ensure food nirvana this Sunday.

Make it yourself

Take out food is greasy and expensive.  Sure it may taste good, but you can make the same items cheaper and healthier.  We want to stuff our faces, not have early heart attacks.  Several grocery chains have great sales on traditional game-day food.  While you’re doing the grocery shopping, be sure to pick up plenty of paper towels and trash bags. Rainforest Adventures is the show currently being performed and you’re children are sure to be wowed by over 30 exotic plants and animals all located in the rainforest.
