Christmas TreeAs December draws near we find ourselves looking for opportunities to celebrate the season with our friends and family.

Residents living in Gwinnett and Forsyth counties won’t have any problems. Both counties will be hosting holiday Christmas tree lighting ceremonies complete with a visit from Santa and yummy goodies. These fun filled holiday events are the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season.

Join the city of Cumming on December 5 as they usher in the holidays with the Cumming Christmas Parade & Festival. The parade begins at 3:30 p.m. but you’ll want to make your way to Market Place Boulevard ahead of time so the little ones can  get a good view of the parade, which will be complete with decorative floats, marching bands, festive holiday music, dance troops and more. Christmas TreeHunters’ Christmas Tree Farm in Milton will once again be participating in the national effort, Trees for Troops. The holiday initiative provides more then 15,000 Christmas Trees to military families throughout the United States and overseas.

Trees for Troops began in 2005 when FedEx and Christmas SPIRIT Foundation provided 4,300 real Christmas Trees to military families at fives bases in the United States and overseas. In 2006 the initiative tripled their success, delivering nearly 12,000 trees to families at 25 bases in 17 countries.

Over the years the program has continued to grow as more and more Christmas tree farms such as Hunters’ participate. This year, customers can participate this year by purchasing a discounted 6 or 7-foot tree at Hunters’, November 27 through December 12. Stationary and cards will also be available for those who would like to write a personal message and attach it to their donated tree. The trees donated from Hunters’ Christmas Tree Farm will be distributed amongst families serving at Fort Gordon.

Penny at the Gwinnett CenterOur Grand Finale is quickly approaching and  finalists are qualifying left and right, which means there are only a few spots remaining for the Grand Finale Penny Toss set to take place on November 10th at the Gwinnett Center. Penny goes Pumpkin Hunting

This past weekend proved to be a busy one for Miss Penny Lane. Our favorite superhero found herself busy running around the metro Atlanta area running her weekly Free Penny Toss events. Five prospective homebuyers and four Realtors joined the Penny Power race and will now have the chance at the grand finale toss event set to take place November 10th where they will have the chance to battle it out for their new home or $50,000 respectively.

Fall is in the air!

fall leavesThe leaves have begun to change colors, there is a cool nip to the air (well when it isn’t raining that is) and pumpkins and Halloween decorations can be found everywhere you look. Fall is once again in the air and  it’s time for pumpkin patches and hayrides!

If you are in the Gwinnett County area you are in for a world of Halloween treats. From pumpkin patches to haunted houses, Gwinnett has it all. Located near the neighborhood of Ashmore the  Church of the Hills Pumpkin Patch in Duluth is putting a charitable spin on the season with all the proceeds of their pumpkin patch going to Habitat for Humanity, and other local organizations.
