Spine health begins with good posture. It also helps in reducing lower back pain. Be aware of your body as you sit, stand, bend or lift objects:

    1. While sitting, your legs should be at a 90 degree angle to your body

    2. While standing, move your weight to the balls of your feet and not the heels. Let your arms hang naturally

    3. Loosen up your back muscles through stretching exercises. The lower back cat stretch is perfect for this.

    4. Reduce weight & wear comfortable shoes. Both of these can improve your posture dramatically.

I started hiking with my husband about 8 months ago – I only wanted to improve my fitness, I was not trying to lose weight. We started off with easy 2 mile trails 2-3 times a week and worked up to difficult 4-6 mile trails 5 times a week. I noticed a definite improvement in muscle tone and endurance within a month. This really worked for us because we kept each other motivated (when I felt lazy, he pushed me to go and vice versa), we ended up truly enjoying the time spent outdoors, and we have access to 4 great parks within 10 miles.

As for foods to avoid, I make an effort to rarely, if ever, eat processed food or fast food (maybe once every 2 or 3 months). It makes a huge difference in your skin, energy levels, and overall feeling of health.

Today with global markets connected, and shipping channels moving to and from all corners of the Earth, NO disease or disorder should exist. Our bodies are made up of CELLS…not our EGO. Cells. We are the Periodic Table, and when you are missing or out of balance on certain elements found in nature…it creates the path for disorder and disease. We are what we eat, and great nutrition is available to almost everyone! To learn more about my experience (EASY.5minutetour) hit my site!

I don't know how long ago you posted this but I wanted to try and help anyway.

I know a lot of people that are going through this very thing. My suggestion would to be to stock up on whole foods such as whole wheat or grain bread, eggs, ground turkey things like that. They are not to expensive, they will last for a week or more and they're healthy.

Also the frozen veggies are cheaper too, they might not hold all the nutritional value as fresh but they definitely have more then hamburger helper.

Cereal is great too, if you get the shredded wheat or fiber rich you can add sugar substitute to it. You get the fiber you need and also get calcium through non fat or reduced fat milk. Oatlmeal is good too, you can never go wrong there. You can also get the lunch meats that are less in fat, lots of lettuce to make salads and fat free dressing. You can add lunch meat to it for some pizaz. Beans are good too.

If you are buying fruits through can, being that they are heaper. Just get the ones without added syrup or sugar. Naturally packed is the best way to go.

This might all sound so blan but it's very healthy and you can always kick it up with some added spices and sugar substitute. reduced fat peanut butter is another good one.

    Hope this helped!

I'll tell you what has FINALLY worked for me after all the expensive stuff I have tried: Suave Vibrant Shine shampoo and conitioner (about $2.00 a bottle) and Tresemme No Frizz Ultra Light Shine Spray. This routine made my hair softer and shinier OVERNIGHT, and I have extremely coarse frizzy hair and have tried every outrageous product on the shelves.

Congratulations on your efforts to recover from your eating disorder. I know from personal experience that it's hard to overcome that feeling of fullness and that it feels like a lot to eat at first. It does get easier because as you begin to eat more, your stomach (which actually shrunk while you were eating too little) will expand to its normal size again and become more accustomed to normal volumes of food. As you continue your recovery, your metabolism will also return to a more normal level, and your body will begin to send hunger signals again, which stop when you starve yourself for a long period of time.
To start, try increasing your calorie intake by about 100 calories per day. You should always try to aim for at least 1200 calories per day to avoid forcing your body into starvation mode, but I understand that doing so can be very hard. It's easiest at first if you eat foods that are denser in calories. Nut products such as peanut butter, nuts and trail mix are all very calorie-dense and healthy. They're not extremely filling but contain a lot of calories for a small volume of food. Similarly, foods such as granola, avocado, dried fruit, bagels, whole milk products such as cheese, ice cream and yogurt are all calorie-dense products that might help you. If you're still finding it difficult to consume enough calories, try to drink an Ensure or Boost shake. These contain about 230 calories per can (depending on the variety and brand) and have a lot of nutrients that you need.
It might take a while for your digestive system to readjust, but by eating foods that are high in fiber and making sure that you stay well-hydrated, you can help your digestive system a little, but it may still take some time for your digestive system to readjust.
Eating more is the main thing you need to do to get more energy, and once you begin to do that, you'll feel a lot more energetic.
I hope this helped, and good luck

You should definitely continue going to the gym at least 4 days a week. You should give yourself one day off at least every week. The key is to not exercise the same group of muscles every day. Give your muscles time to heal up or they won't be able to handle the stress from everyday. If you are mostly doing cardio and not strength training, I suggest you do one day where you really push yourself and the next day go light and easy. A great method I have found when it pertains to doing cardio is finding intensities for yourself on a scale of 1 to 10. Level 1 is like laying down or sleeping and level 10 is the absolute max output your body can do. So when you start on the treadmill(it's much easier with machines since you can set the speed/resistance!) or an elliptical, etc, start yourself on your level 5 intensity. That could be just a regular walking pace or maybe a slower walking pace. After two minutes go up a level in intensity(either by setting the machine a little harder or walking faster) to level 6. Then after that minute go to level 7, then another minute to level 8 and another minute to level 9. So at level 9 you should really be feeling it and you should really be pushing yourself. After one minute at level 9 go back down to level 6. Then work your way up again minute after minute to level 9. After doing this for a set period of time(I usually do 20 minutes total because it is such an intense workout), when you have 3 minutes left you should be at level 9, then two minutes left try to strive for level 10. You might get there or you might not. It really depends on your energy level for the day. But always try to do it, you might get there when you thought you couldn't! And then the final minute you should go back to level 5 for a cooldown. You can continue doing a cooldown if you want, a lot of machines have that automatic 5 minute cooldown period. I love this method in cardio and I find it highly effective because it doesn't allow your body to get used to the exercise. As you get faster and stronger you will have new intensity levels so just move them up as you progress. You can't outgrow this because of that.

You should definitely do weight training at least 3 days a week too. You should break up the workouts into two or more different groups. An example is doing all upper body on one day and then you can do lower body the next day or a few days later. As long as you give your body days of rest in between workouts you will be fine. The more muscle you have the more calories and fat you will burn. You will also feel better and feel like you can do more in the gym and at home too.

I also suggest eating 4-6 small meals a day and make sure most of it is protein, complex carbs, fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, low fat dairy, fish, and lean meats. Protein is a huge helper in weight loss because it makes you feel fuller for a long period of time and it helps your muscles. The healthier the food you eat the less you'll want the junk. Don't keep it in the house and it will be easier to stay on track.
