oh wow, u got a lot of questions. But I will try to help you.

First of all do you have a house that has a driveway? IF so you can ask the dealership if they could give you transporter plates, or dealer plates so you can drive it and put it in your driveway.

If ya don't have a driveway and you have to park on the street, you have to get insurance. Look up local insurance companies, in your area, and just get the basic insurance that your state says you have to have. Tell the insurance agent you want the minimum for the care to be insured. Get some quotes on line too. In NY you can get insurance in 24 hrs, and can also have the insurance cards sent or downloaded. But I don't know if Ct does that.

I would not do the extra tag thing cause if ya get stopped by a cop it might get complicated.

Maybe you could do that if your friend drove the car, But I am not sure about that.

    Good Luck

Actually, I am paying $85 per year on a 1972 Alfa that propels me at 135mph when needed so I don't have a problem as:

    1) I love my car
    2) I pay less than everyone I know

and, if I was to thange car, I'd probably get a 1952 Cobra that would be:

    1) better and faster than the car I have now
    2) just as cheap on insurance

I did try and advice people about this or that but everyone has his way of thinking, so what do you want me to say about your question? If you have a probs, spend your energy trying to fix it, who cares what the yahooers say.

    Hi Friend:

Most dealers would be happy to take your new car from you . and give you a cheaper car , Yes you can do this.

Let me get this right, what your saying is you want out of the Mazda, and you would like a older car for less payments?
The problem here is you have no equity in your car at all so you best stay away from the dealers….

If I was in you situation then I would first Sell My Car Privately . You will for sure get at least what you owe from a private sale but you will loose way more money by going to a dealer.

Once you’re out of debt for this Mazda, then you are in a much better position to purchase a car but finding one at a wholesale price would be my goal. Or be patient and find car that you want to decide how much money you have to spend, but never tell anyone this figure. Never. Once you have a figure in mind then go out and find a car that is about 3000 more than what you are willing to spend. Keep your eye on the market of that car and check every resource you can about this car and what it sells for on average. Once you find the average then you can deal better with sellers.

Now 1 final find a car that has been sitting for weeks on sale. and then another fast easy way to find a super deal is this………. every Thursday morning the buy and sell come out in my area , what i do is pick up this paper as early as possible right off the press if you can ……… Then you will see cars so low that they should not be in the paper but the sellers that a not experienced, but they are there for the taking, your job is to find those nuggets on the day of press. This is free priceless information that will help you get the edge in buying your cars.

What state are you in ? I've never heard of "non permissive use". Normally, someone with a valid license and permission to drive an insured car is covered under that cars policy. I guess you will have to read the policy. If you can't see where it says "non permissive use" then I would ask the insurance company to point it out to you,. If they won't or can't and still will not pay, and contact your insurance commissioner/and or get a lawyer

  8. Ride The Lightning says:

Depending on what type of person you are, leasing is not always a bad idea. Cars are not investments and they will alwas depreciate. Reality of the matter is, the majority of people like new and nice things. When you buy a car brand new you are already losing out money. Then, when you want to upgrade, most people go trade it in (which you lose money again) and buy a newer car which in turn, guess what? Yes, you lose money again. So if you lease a car, you are not paying for the entire car but more so to use it for 2-3 years depending on the length of your lease. Then you when your lease is up you get a brand new car for another 2-3 years and so on. You are only "renting" the car but you are losing less money then buying, trade-in, buying again.

In your case it is not so much about having the latest car but more so about having a RELIABLE one. A reliable car does not necessarily have to be a brand new car, but with the money you have your options are limited. What you have to do is estimate the mileage you will be putting on your car when you move to a bigger city and start college. Besides the type of car, lease prices depend on the mileage package you purchase. The smaller the mile limitation, the cheaper the monthly price. Dig in for details and ask how many miles per year or total (for however long the lease is) are included in that price.

Tell your dad that you simply cannot afford buying a car right now, that the one you are going to get is new and reliable and it is only temporary. With the money you have you can only afford a beater car and that is not covering all the mainteanance repairs it will entail. The lease will get you by until you are better situated and then you can buy your own car. Finally, in most lease contracts you can purchase the car when your lease is up if you wish to.

Find out all the details before you sell the idea to him.

    Good luck!
