What is the Importance of Insurance Quotes?

1 What is the Importance of Insurance Quotes?

You’ve probably used them many times in the past to get auto, home, and life insurance quotes. Quote generator websites have been around in many different forms since the start of the Internet to help you get lower prices on many different kinds of insurance.

While there are many variations to the way these sites work, here is the basic process they follow for homeowners insurance. You enter information about your home including its location, size, age, roof type, construction materials, and other features along with your contact information. That information is sent by these websites to insurance companies who review your information and decide whether they would like to quote a price to insure your home.

All of the interested companies provide their quote information either directly to the website you originally visited or they might contact you either directly or through one of their agents. Depending on the quote generator website you used, you may receive an email containing a detailed quote, phone calls from insurance agents, or perhaps both.

In states other than Florida where there are hundreds of companies competing for your home insurance business, these quote generator websites can work well. They do the legwork for you and you end up with a lot of cost effective options to choose from.

Getting quotes for Florida home insurance presents a totally different situation when it comes to using these websites.

To begin with, unlike in other states, Florida has a lot fewer companies to choose from since only about 40 home insurance companies are writing new business. In addition, you should know that these Florida home insurance companies pay the quote generator websites for each lead that is provided to them. In reality what is happening is that the Florida insurance companies are paying the quote generator websites for the higher search engine rankings their sites have in order to reach more customers.

If you decide to use a Florida home insurance quote generator website, you will have to consider one or more of the following issues when using them.

First, some Florida homeowners insurance companies won’t partner with the quote generator websites at all. They sell Florida home insurance direct or through an agent network and don’t want to pay the additional fee to a quote website for the cost of the lead.

In addition, there are a large number of quote generator websites out there for each company to use to buy customer leads from. They will be limited to selecting only a handful of the quote generator websites that they feel will bring the most traffic and customer leads to them. More importantly, this means that none of these companies can afford to be featured on all of the quote generator websites. If you pick the wrong quote generator website, you might miss out on 10 to 15 companies in your Florida County that want to cover your home.

In each of the two situations described above, you’ll run a high risk of missing out on multiple homeowners insurance companies in Florida who want to cover your home or you’ll find that you are receiving the exact same quotes from the same few companies over and over again. No matter what, Florida home insurance will cost you more.

Missing out on even one company that is interested in covering you home is not a risk that you should take during the Florida home insurance crisis. Each new Florida home insurance quote that you obtain could save you thousands depending on where you live.

Finally, if you are planning on using a quote generator website to get Florida home insurance quotes, you have to consider the privacy of your personal information. While most of these websites protect your personal information, using some of them will result in you receiving a high volume of unwanted emails and phone calls from Florida insurance agents with a quote from the exact same company.

Given the situation with Florida home insurance, you have a much higher chance of finding lower cost insurance if you contact multiple independent agents that represent a large number of companies to cover your home instead of using the quote generator websites. Working with at least two large independent agents who can offer you the largest number of Florida home insurance agents is essential. Since each agent may represent a different group of companies, contacting more than one agent is your best chance to get a Florida home insurance quote from all the companies writing new business in your local market.

The more Florida home insurance quotes you get, the more you will save during the Florida home insurance crisis.

This is a tough question, but this is Yahoo! Answers, so I'm here to help.

First, bankrate.com is a well-known, excellent website that has a calculator for this (see below).

If your insurance agent is "pressuring" you, I surmise that he/she is not acting in your best interest, but rather, his/hers. Purchasing life insurance, while prudent, is something that should be done with an advisor whom you trust completely and feel zero pressure.

For more information, please visit your state's insurance department website. They provide objective information that will assist you in your purchase. Attached is a sample for the state I live in, Texas. Good luck, my young friends!

Before you start this exercise try to evaluate just how your mother is actually being hurt by her credit score. I do not mean how she could conceivably be hurt, but only what is happening now.

Some people really are not being hurt by having a low credit score, particularly people who have a high score. Some people feel somewhat secure in their job, do not need to go find another place to live, already have more insurance than they want, and do not carry any debts, not even carrying a balance over month end on their credit cards, and for many such people a good credit score, while nice to have, is not impacting their life.

Now when a person is having a negative impact of any kind, you can more easily convince them. Even when there is something coming soon like a mortgage renewal, buying a car, etc, the individual can see how this may hurt them soon. It is extremely difficult to convince someone who can not imagine needing to use the benefit of a clean credit record.

In fact there can be a benefit that flows from a very bad credit score.
It makes one an unlikely target for identity theft.
In general, people who have a bad credit rating need to have a good one. But people with a good credit rating may never need it.

It really does not make sense for a person with no debts to go into debt late in life just to keep a high credit score. It may not help anyone all that much. Later in life we often benefit most by living debt free and having a significant portfolio of investments. This is the advice most contemplating retirement are given.

Personally I would get the STI just for the aftermarket support. With just a couple hundred dollars extra you can get a boost controller and have a huge increase in power and the AWD would be much better in all weather.

    No doubt.

The Republican party right now has a lockstep mindset….some bastardization of Rand, M. Friedman and fairy tale Ronald Reagan…..marinated in greed and faux morality. It has lost any track on reality.

The current Republican party wants big government and hates democracy. They preach morality, but could care less about the poor….or even if a working person has health care. They'd rather get corporate profits than domestic security, but look where it has gotten us? Corporations and people are struggling.

Yes, the solution is helping the consumer and the worker. The supply side has been pampered too long.

    Hi Rachel R:

Thank you for enlighten us with your personal story! You took some time to write about your situation, so I hope that I am able to give you some good advice.

First of all, I'm somewhat surprised that after submitting such a lovely and lengthy detail about your personal situation that you didn't bother to mentioned what your degree are you majoring in? It would certainly give the reader more advice to give you knowing this vital information.

There are other Federal jobs to look at for employment besides the military! Just do not limit yourself with the military option, especially if you are going to have a degree. The FBI, Department of State, CIA, Department of Treasury, Secret Service, Department of Agriculture, Border Patrol, US AID, Homeland Security, are just some of many Federal agencies that are hiring. Almost all of these agencies have their own personal website (google it) to look and apply for jobs. Again, since you didn't mentioned your degree, it can't specifically tell you what agency would be a good fit for your major.

The military isn't a bad option, but isn't shouldn't be considered just because "you have nothing else to do or no where else to turn too !" That frame of mind and attitude will not only cause disappointment for you if things don't go well but to experience the military as a person who is so far underachieving in life. I speak from experience, because I served 21 years in the Marine Corps as an enlisted who was able to obtain his bachelor's degree while on active duty. I retired as a Master Sergeant (E-8) before starting my new career with the Federal Government. Just going over 10 years in June 2010, my base salary is $102,000 before additional entitlements. The good thing is I'm only considered a "mid-level" officer in rank and have many more opportunities for promotion and money.

I understand that you are currrently frustrated with your financial situation and job opportunities, but don't give up hope that there aren't any good jobs. You take one step at a time! Does your spouse have a degree? Would you be willing to relocate or work overseas working at our many U.S. Embassies or Consulate abroad? Are you bi-lingual? Just some things to think about for in your job search.

I can tell you about my experience in being in the Marine Corps for 21 years, but I think you have other options first before the military. Anyhow, best of luck in your future and God Bless!

    Regards,
RCF (U.S. Federal Employee for major Federal Agency)
